Boeing To Cut Hundreds of Fisherman's Bend Facility

Boeing to cut its employee outside United States. The Boeing's facilities at Melbourne Australia, called Fisherman's Bend, these are the biggest Boeing's facilities outside Everett.

The workers would be decreased up to a thousand worker left. The plan will be take action till the end of year 2014.


Boeing's Plants in Long Beach was closed as well

The Melbourne facilities produces many of wing components, for instances: Boeing 787 Dreamliner's flaps and ailerons. The main reason for "slimmer worker" is currency fluctuations and long-term financial forecast.

Some of manufacturing would be moved to Everett or North Charleston, but now is not clear whether the Australian facility they are. There are design analysis, material process technology division and composite structure testing in Fisherman's Bend.
