Space Shuttle Atlantis Captured From ISS
Sensational photo shoot of NASA, captured Space Shuttle Atlantis from International Space Station (ISS). The space shuttle precisely over the Bahama just before docking to ISS, this mission is a part of Russian Progress spacecraft which was docked to the station is in the foreground. The photo took on July 2011, the last mission of the Atlantis.
Atlantis named from the ship that made first image of the ocean floor using sounding devices back in 1930. Every space shuttle designed for at least 25 years of duty, as well as Atlantis. In the 25 years period, Atlantis flying 33 times including US military secret missions, flying astronauts (actually ferrying) to and from International Space Station (ISS).
United States has been flying many spacecraft since 1969, official program run by NASA also known as Space Transportation System. Counted since then, until now NASA flew more than 134 missions (1981-2011). Entire space shuttle launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. There are Space Shuttle Enterprise, Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Endeavour, and surely Atlantis.
